As most of you know, Sean and I met in Kenya this past year. It is a story that I never thought could happen to me. We both had our eyes on the Lord. We were satisfied with being single and pursuing the Lord with all of our hearts and then God did exactly what He had planned. He crossed our paths, and as all of you know the rest is history.
We have been married for a little over a month and let me tell you, God gave me one of the best gifts that I never deserved. He gave me a man that loves me, adores me and takes care of me. He gave me a spouse that loves Jesus Christ first and then me and I am extremely blessed by Sean everyday.
Being a wife is something I yearned for and last year I gave it all to the Lord. I said, “Hey God, my life is yours. I trust you.” I surrendered my yearnings and beautiful desires of having a family one day to Him and He blessed me more than words can describe.
Sean and I are now in a beautiful transition of coming back to the states from a busy lifestyle in Kenya, to the hustle and bustle of wedding planning, honeymoon and now here we are. We are in a period of rest, as well as a period of prayer and preparation.
If any of you know the “Jenny” that I am, resting is actually hard for me to do, so this time has been a challenge, but a blessing. Everyday I get a good amount of time with the Lord and a good amount of time to think and sometimes overthink.
Sometimes I worry and many times I have control issues with our Lord. I want to know about tomorrow, I want to know we will be able to get back to Kenya in July, I want to know that we can raise all our support. I just want to know. All in all though, the Lord is molding me and reminding me through people, moments and scripture that He has it all under control.
Today, I opened up my devotional from last year, Jesus Calling. It read:
“FOLLOW ME ONE STEP AT A TIME.
That is all I require of you. In fact, that is the only way to move through this space/time world. You see huge mountains looming, and you start wondering how you’re going to scale those heights. Meanwhile, because you’re not looking where you’re going, you stumble on the easy path where I am leading you now. As I help you get back on your feet, you tell Me how worried you are about the cliffs up ahead. But you don’t know what will happen today, much less tomorrow. Our path may take an abrupt turn, leading you away from those mountains. There may be an easier way up the mountains than is visible from the distance. If I do lead you up the cliffs, I will equip you thoroughly for the strenuous climb. I will even give My angels charge over you, to preserve you in all your ways.
Keep your mind on the present journey, enjoying MY Presence. Walk by faith, not by sight, trusting Me to open up the way before you.”
We all have cliffs that seem almost impossible to climb, but when we try to put matters into our own hands, well it just might be impossible.
Through my walk with the Lord, He is constantly reminding me that He is the way. He is the truth and He has control.
“With your help I can advance against a troop, with my God I can scale a wall.”
- Psalm 18:29
As Sean and I are preparing to return to Kenya, please continue to pray for our journey. We know where the Lord is leading us to serve and need many prayers as we raise the support to get us back home.
Remember, we all cliffs. Lets climb our cliffs together in Christ.
Radiating HIS love everyday,
Jenny Nuccio
By the way, Sean and I got the privilege to see The City Harmonic this past week. Enjoy this amazing song. Keep climbing to the mountaintop, the Lord is always with you.
