For my birthday, Sean gave me a book called "The Mother's Secret of a Happy Life" By: Donna Maltese. As I have began reading this book it has completely resonated with my heart and renewed my spirit of being adding another title of "mother" to my life. It has reminded me to break the chains of expectations of being "super mom" and know that the Lord equips us with exactly what we need for this life and to trust in that alone.
After each chapter, the book gives us path markers for each day of the week, which consist of mind renewing prayers. I will be sharing this path markers with you daily and hope you can be encouraged through them just as I am.
Day 1:
"Take your everyday, ordinary life - your sleeping, eating, going to work, and walking around life - and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him." - Romans 12:1 MSG
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank you for saving my life, for drawing me closer and closer to You. I place all that I am, all I want to be and all that I have - including my children - before You. Now my hands are free to accept the fact that You have delivered me from all things - including myself. I revel in that fact and rejoice in Your loving presence.
Know that through thick and thin, God is on your side. So do not be afraid and trust in Him.
And DO NOT GIVE UP in the good work you may be doing for the Lord. Stand up straight and keep your head high, keeping your eyes towards the Lord.
