What is perfect?
What is clean?
What is safe?
What is feeling satisfied?
If we searching for purpose that is made of this world, then I have to be raw and honest and say that life is always going to be, well, kind of boring and we will most likely never get the full satisfaction that we are desiring. We will struggle, we will compare and we will find a flaw here and there. Sure, you may be reading this and have it all. You have graduated at the top of your class and maybe even have masters by now; you have a good job, bring in great money, which ensures financial security for retirement. Then to top it off you have an amazing spouse and have beautiful plans for the future, you have it all.
NONE OF THIS IS WRONG. Actually, I am a scholarly freak so having any degree or pursuing higher education is an amazing accomplishment. Having a wonderful job is something to be proud of and planning for the future is definitely a smart move.
So, where am I getting at?
Today, I was digging through my journal and I came about a small saying: “A life of meaning is DYNAMIC. It can’t always be lived in neat, straight lines.”
Get messy with the Lord! Let him mess up your life a little. Let him become ALIVE in you everyday. The Lord delights in you everyday and the best part of it all is he is so proud of you and me, no matter what we have been through in the past or present.
A life that is successful to world’s standards is not bad, in fact, it is truly a great accomplishment to be successful in this short life we live, but in the midst of success remember who was always by your side. Our Father, our Lord and our beautiful Savior was with you every step of the way.
So, stop trying to walk such a perfect straight line, stop comparing yourself to the others around you and just get messy with the Lord.
