It seems as if my "weekly" devotions have not been so weekly. I apologize to all our followers for that and I am giving you a promise that I will try and be better... TRY is the key word in that sentence, so have grace on me if you do not hear from me again for a while!
I wanted to share the verse I read this morning: "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7
The verse that is before verse 7 is one that most of us know well or at least I do because it is the story of my life. Vs. 6 reads, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer, and petition, with thanksgiving, present requests to God."
One of my biggest flaws that the Lord is daily refining me on is control. I am constantly trying to find "my" way for things or "my" solution to the problem. I think many times when I get stressed (most of the time is financial stress with our programs we have here in Kenya), My first thought in my head is "Ok, what is MY next move?" When in reality, I should always fall to my knees and ask the Lord, "Hey God, what is you next move? I am ready to follow."
Everyday I am learning to let go of that control and know that my way is never the best way. When we follow the Lord, He opens doors for us that we could not even imagine would have been there before.
So, this morning my prayer is for vs. 7. Instead of focusing on the anxious things of my heart, I am giving those to Him and now focusing on the peace that should transcend my heart.
Father -
I pray that the peace of you will transcend all my understanding today and that in everything I do and every step I take you will guard my way. I pray that you will guard my heart from anything that has an intention of destroying my peace and I pray that you give me a clear mind in you. I pray that I can think like you and have discernment in every decision you have in front of me. I pray as we need funding for our programs that those doors will open and you will lead me to the people and the relationships you want me to have in my life. So, I pray for peace. I pray for comfort and I pray for understanding as I walk through this life trying to be the best I can for you. Amen.
Whatever is going on in your life, let the Lord's peace transcend through you and remember His plans are always better than yours.

Jenny Nuccio
